Every year, UCR has a series of concerts. During the winter quarter, the concert that goes on is called Heat. Last year we had N.E.R.D come through and it was one of the craziest concerts I ever been to. So the purpose of the launch party is to give a chance to people who are trying to make a name for themselves and win some money. There was a contest for best co-host, best dance crew, and DJ for the night. I went with my nigs Kevin (wheresmyhippo.com) and Michelle to check it out and we met up with some of their friends. Little did I know, their friend Ravi aka Dj Dangerous Stranger was one of the battling DJs. Saw a bunch of familiar faces and acted a fool; totally worth going to it. Oh yeah, Herbert was there.

Here's his set if you wanna watch it (but you have to be signed into facebook). Each DJ had to use 5 songs that were given by the judges and incorporate other music for a 10 minute set. Ravi had technical difficulties at the end but he was killing it. He ended up winning the $250 dollar prize and the spot as DJ for the night for Heat 2010. Congrats man. Oh yeah, Ravi also won last year's contest so this is back to back for him.
